Fujikura 86S is a new fusion splicer in the Fujikura product line. The splicer has been introduced as the replacement for Fujikura 80S. Fujikura 86S has not only taken all the best features from the 80S model but has also gained new improvements that made it more efficient and reliable.
Many components and accessories of Fujikura 86S have been upgraded. The new design of fiber retention clamps is suitable for fiber cladding of any type including loose tube fiber, which makes the use of extra fiber clamps no longer necessary. Due to the new design of windproof cover and top surface, Fujikura 86S fusion splicer provides convenient centering of protection sleeves before splicing and fast transfer to the heater for shrinking. When the windproof cover and sheath clamps are automatically opened after splicing, the fiber retention clamps gently hold the spliced fiber to keep it from flying out.
Fujikura 86S has a new color touch screen designed for outdoor use. The new Fujikura 86S rechargeable battery pack is enough for up to 300 splice and heat cycles when fully charged. The redesigned electrodes can be replaced without tools in the field. And their price is still the same.
The shape and size of the splicer were seriously modified. It made it possible to come up with a reinforced protective design that prevents damage to all inner mechanisms of the equipment in case of an accidental fall.
The new enlarged carrying case of Fujikura 86S has spacious drawers for extra tools and materials. The fusion splicer work tray has also undergone a major redesign. Work surfaces have been increased in order to easily accommodate a cleaver, dispenser, and auxiliary tools. Now, the Fujikura CT50 cleaver can be securely fastened with the tripod holder. The work tray is made configurable to fit different applications.
The connectivity of splicer with the cleaver via Bluetooth has also been improved. The user can work simultaneously with two Fujikura CT50 cleavers, collect cleaving statistics and control the blade position.
