The ATKK-16SM-2000 Emergency Transportable Cable Kit is intended for fast temporary restoration of failures on long-distance fiber optic communication line or when it is difficult to access the area of failure. For example, the kit can be used in a railroad accident, flooding, or a harsh chemical spill.
The ATKK includes separate cable sections connected in series. The fiber optic cable of each section is coiled on a metal cable reel and preterminated with FC/UPC connectors at both ends. In the transport position, the connectors are protected by corrugated pipes.
In the operating position, each end of the fiber optic cable section is connected to the junction protection box (UZMS). The UZMS is a tight sealed metal box that has two compartments. There are FC adapters installed on the UZMS patch panel. The UZMS box can be easily mounted on the cable section reel flange.
The connection device is the MTOK-V3 fiber optic closure with a 10 m piece of fiber optic cable. One cable end is fed into the closure, the other one is preterminated with FC/UPC connectors (protected by corrugated pipes in the transport position). The fibers excess for jointing the connection device with the damaged fiber optic cable or station equipment is routed in the closure fiber splice tray.
The ATKK fibers are connected to the damaged cable fibers using the mechanical connectors supplied with the connection device. A standard set of tools for fiber optic cable is required to install the ATKK. No special tools are needed to deploy and install the ATKK.
The ATKK of up to 4 km long can be supplied upon request.
