The DOTs fiber optic cables are intended for suspension on poles of overhead communication lines, railroad contact and auto-blocking lines, power transmission lines, street lighting poles, power utility lines, between buildings and other structures. It can also be used for construction of fiber optic lines in cable ducts, pipes (including by air blowing installation method), cable blocks, tunnels, collectors, on bridges and overpasses.

The cable consists of a number of buffer tubes stranded over a fiberglass (FRP) rod protected with a layer of reinforcing fiberglass threads covered by an outer jacket made of medium density polyethylene (MDPE). The free space inside the buffer tubes is filled with hydrophobic gel.

The DOTs cables produced by Inkab have the lightest and most cost-effective design among ADSS cables. The lightweight design differs from the standard design by the absence of an inner sheath and a hydrophobic gel in the cable core. Thanks to this, the design obtains its own advantages which are different from other designs.
