The CCD OK-NRS fiber optic cables are specially designed for construction fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband access networks in apartment buildings (urban areas) or large business centers.
The cable outer jacket is made of halogen-free flame retardant polymer (LSZH) compound with low smoke emission, UV resistant and complies with the EN 50290-2-27 standard. The CCD OK-NRS fiber optic cables are completely dielectric. The resistance to tensile strength is provided by longitudinal fiberglass rods. An opening in the cable outer jacket can be cut with a special stripping tool to provide free access to the core elements.
The cable capacity is 288 fibers in the 250 μm primary coating, arranged in micro-modules. Each micro-module contains up to 12 fibers. In general, the number of fibers in a module is based on the number of subscribers on the floor, while the number of micro-modules is chosen according to the number of floors in the building. A micro-module up to 6 m long can be easily selected and pulled out from the cable to connect subscribers on the floor. Due to this, riser cables can be installed during construction of the network in existing or newly created risers without the need for excess cable loops and installation of floor distribution boxes. Distribution boxes can be installed later on the floors where needed for subscribers connections. This type of cable is suitable for high-rise buildings, with more than 48 subscribers in one riser.

The cable contains a bundle of micro-modules with fibers. The cable outer jacket is made of halogen-free flame retardant polymer (LSOH) composition with low smoke emission. Two fiberglass rods are embedded in the cable jacket diametrically opposite to each other. They prevent axial torsion of the cable, and also serve as strength members.
