The MKO-P1/A Dome Closure Kit is used for jointing overhead trunk cable with small-diameter drop cables. All MKO closures marked with the letter "A" have a plate or sockets for SC adapters inside. This allows using preterminated drop cables and provides multiple reconnections.
The closure is a small rectangular sealed container. A removable organizer plate is mounted inside the container. There are two splice inserts for fiber optic splices protected by KDZS 4525 sleeves are located on the back side of the organizer. There is a patch panel for SC adapters located on the front side of the organizer. Also,on the front side of the organizer, there is an L2-SP splitter insert for installation mini-splitters with one meter long fibers in a 900 µm fiber buffer. One PO-1x8-PLC-SM/0.9-1.0 m-SC/APC splitter or two PO-1x4 -PLC -SM/0.9-1.0 m-SC/APC splitters terminated with SC connectors can be installed.
The closure lid can be opened and locked in open position by a plastic hinge molded into the closure body. The lid and body are tightened together by captive screws and nuts pressed into the body.
There is elastic gel in between the closure body and lid sealing both the body and the inserted trunk and drop cables.
Despite the small size, the closure design makes it possible to arrange the through-feed cable without cut.
If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure |Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.
Please keep in mind that the "Technical specifications" section indicates the operating temperature range of the terminal closures disregarding features of parts installed within such as adapters, pigtails and splitters. If you use terminal closures with the above parts, their operating temperature range may be limited to the parameters of the specified products.
