The Closure Kit is used for jointing overhead trunk cable with small-diameter drop cables. It is also can be used in FTTH / PON networks for the 2nd stage PLC splitters accommodation.The terminal has a plate with SC adapters inside used for connection with preterminated drop-cables and performing multiple reconnections.
The closure is a small rectangular sealed container. A removable organizer plate is mounted inside the container. Two L12-4525 splice inserts for optical fiber joints protected by KDZS 4525 fusion splice sleeves are located on the back side of the organizer. The sockets for SC adapters are located on the front side of the organizer. On the front side of the organizer, there is an L2-SP Splitter Insert that can be used to install mini-splitters with one meter long fibers in a 900 µm fiber buffer. One PO-1x8-PLC-SM/0.9-1.0 m-SC/APC splitter or two PO-1x4 -PLC -SM/0.9-1.0 m-SC/APC splitters terminated with SC connectors can be installed.
Closure lid and body are tightened with two plastic latches on steel spring loaded hinges.
There is elastic gel in between the closure body and lid sealing both the body and the inserted trunk, and service cables.
Despite its small size, the closure design makes it possible to arrange the through-feed cable without cut.
The closure design ensures the following:
• enter, seal and secure two cables with outer sheath diameters up to 14 mm OD;
• option of through feeding of one fiber optic cable;
• installation of up to 36 fiber splices of distribution (KDZS 4525 fusion splice sleeves) and 10 fiber splices of drop-cables;
• installation of two PLC splitters with 60x7x4 mm body size;
• installation of up to 10 SC-type optical sockets (adapters);
• dust-proof input of up to ten 2-3 mm round cables or rectangular FRP-style drop cables.
If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.
Please keep in mind that the "Technical specifications" section indicates the operating temperature range of the terminal closures disregarding features of parts installed within such as adapters, pigtails and splitters. If you use terminal closures with the above parts, their operating temperature range may be limited to the parameters of the specified products.
