The closure is designed as a low-capacity distribution terminal for jointing outdoor feeder cable and indoor drop aerial cables preterminated with SC connectors.
The closure is made of plastic and ensures dust and splash protection. Incoming trunk cables and outgoing optical drop-cables are located on one side.
The closure has a small rectangular body equipped with a hinged lid and sealed in between using a gasket. Closure lid and body are joined together with a plastic hinge.
Closure lid and body are tightened with two plastic latches on steel spring loaded hinges.
Optical cables are inserted and fastened into the supplied entry nodes with elastic gaskets over the outer jackets.
The design of the input nodes is completely collapsible, which allows it to be mounted on an uncut loop of a transit cable.
There are two types of entry nodes available: for 6-12 mm OD cables and for 12-16 mm OD cables.
Drop-cables are sealed in split elastic plugs.
The closure design ensures:
• enter, seal and secure three cables with up to 16 mm OD outer sheath diameters;
• enter one uncut fiber buffer tube loop of fiber optic cable;
• installation of up to 24 optical fiber joints (KDZS 4525 fusion splice sleeves);
• installation of four PLC splitters with 60x7x4 mm body size;
• installation of up to 20 SC-type adapters;
• dust-proof outlet of up to sixteen drop-cables 2-3 mm OD with SC type connectors.
The closure can be installed on a wall or pole using the MKO-P3 Closure Mount Bracket.
The MKO-P3 Closure Mount Bracket is not included in the kit, but available for purchase upon request.
