The MOG-U Closure Kit is used for urban cables of any design including corrugated steel tape armored cables. The MOG-U-22 Closure Kit is a short version of the MOG-C closure. The MOG-U-22 Closure Kit is designed for tight cable duct manholes, in nonstandard manholes, and for locations with less than 700 mm distance between the support brackets.
The closure body and head are sealed with heat shrink tubes (HST). The heat shrinking sleeves are used for reopening and subsequent sealing.
The incoming cables are sealed with HST tubes. Initially all round cable ports on the closure head are blocked and have a gradient shape with different diameters. Cutting off the branch pipe in a certain place, you can choose the hole size as close as possible to the cable diameter. This eliminates an excessive stretching of the HST tubes after shrinkage when inserting rather thin cables. All closure ports are also equipped with separate anchor nodes for cable central strength members.
The splice tray K48-4525 for 48 sleeves is basic for the MOG-U closure. This tray makes possible to splice cables with different numbers of fibers in the buffer tubes. Thanks to this the entering of buffer tubes with any number of fibers into the entire splice tray without adapters is allowed. The closure has two oval ports. This allows to use the closure simultaneously for the following cases: insertion of a transit cable buffer tube loop and insertion of two cables up to 25 mm OD. In both cases it is required to use extra item MTOK #6 Closure Entry Sealing Kit to ensure the sealing. This item can be purchased separately.
It is recommended to purchase extra KSO-2 or KSO-3 Support Brackets to install the closure in tight manholes. The support bracket is installed on the manhole wall above the bracket level to ensure that the closure is placed in the gap between the bracket top and the manhole ceiling. In this case, the cable excess coils are placed in the manhole corners.
