The compact MTOK-M6 Dome Closure Kit is used for jointing armored cable in all types of soils, and for the cable installed across shallow rivers, lakes, and swamps. Specific cable entry kits are used in the closure to ensure excellent cable retention in the closure head as required by the standards applicable to the industry.
The reinforced plastic clamp and the rubber O-ring gasket are used for mechanical sealing of the closure body and head. When the clamp lock is opened, the latch transforms into a lever for easy removal of the clamp from the closure.
The cable insertion, central strength member fastening and cable ports sealing are achieved using special cable entries that provide unique features and capabilities:
- solid anchoring of armored cable (at least 20% of the cable maximum tensile load rating);
- protection against twisting of armored cables during operation;
- electric contact between the cable armor and the special entry (fitting) body;
- option of insulation or connection the armor of all cables straight in the same closure;
- longitudinal sealing of inserted cables;
- option to lead out the grounding wire (test wire) from the armor of each cable.
The MTOK-M6 closure is supplied with two cable entry sealing kits: # 4 or #. 5. The closure can also be ordered with one # 4 and one # 5 cable entry sealing kits. In case of insertion the third cable into the closure, an additional cable entry sealing kit must be purchased. The extra cable entry sealing kit must comply with the fiber optic cable design.
The grounding wires (test wires)are entered into the closure through separate small ports. The grounding wires are sealed with heat shrink tubes (HST).
If the closure is mounted in pits, it is required to purchase additional mechanical and mud protection closures MCHZ or MPZ depending on the soil type.
The Bracket for Closure Installation in manholes must be purchased to install the closure in cable duct manholes or cable rooms.
