The МТОК-V3 Dome Closure Kit is used for jointing any fiber optic cable (except for submarine cables). This is achieved using cable entry kits that intended for specific cable group. The oval closure port is used to enter the transit loop of cable buffer tubes without cutting. The loop of buffer tubes is laid out in the winding cartridge on the opposite side of the splice tray.
The closure body and head are sealed mechanically. A rubber O-ring gasket and reinforced plastic clamp equipped with a self-tightening lock are used for sealing. When the clamp lock is opened, the latch transforms into a lever for easy removal of the clamp from the closure.
The cable insertion, central strength member fastening and cable ports sealing are achieved using special cable entries. The cable entries must comply with the optical cable design. The use of special cable entries significantly increases the mechanical reliability of cable fastening in the closure.
The oval cable port of the closure can be used for either of the following cases: 1) insertion of four thin cables up to 10 mm OD or 2) feeding a transit cable buffer tube loop or 3) insertion of two cables up to 25 mm OD. For the second and third cases, it is required to use an extra item the MTOK #6 Closure Entry Sealing Kit to ensure the sealing. This item can be purchased separately.
Without the transit cable loop, the total number of cables inserted in the closure can reach up to 8 cables.
If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall, it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.
