The CCD 3.0×30×500 mm lead plate is a work piece intended to produce numbering rings for installation on communication cables in manholes, tunnels, basements, technical premises in PBX, industrial and residential buildings near terminal devices, and so on. The numbering ring length is determined by the cable diameter the ring is installed on, and the method of its securing. For example, the ring can be secured with a roofing seam or a by a rope from cable cores.
Lead plates are used for numbering fiber optic or power cables. The plates are fastened to the cables by rope made of copper or steel wires threaded through holes on the plates. The holes are pierced directly at the places of the plates installation.
Labels (letters and numbers) on rings and plates are applied by steel stamps. The labelling dimension and content along with the font size are specified by the technical accounting services of the communication networks operating the marked cables. After the labelling is applied, in order to simplify reading, rings and plates are rubbed with a rag with bitumen varnish to make the varnish cover the embossed letters and numbers, this way the rings and plates surface remains clean.
