CCD VOKS-B-63-O MODF Cabinet 600х300х2200mm, Organizers Only

The CCD VOKS-B MODF cabinet is used for inserting a large number of fiber optic cables (several dozen or more) into the standard size MODF, splicing and patching of fibers, routing of incoming/outgoing cables and patch cords. Such solutions can be installed in data centers, headends, collocation points and telecom central offices, in cable TV networks, in FTTx access networks (fiber to the home, community, desk, etc.), in passive optical networks (PON), in telecom rooms of large office buildings etc.

High density cabinets and racks are reasonable when a large number of optical ports (not less than 200) are located in one control room. Typically, for one MODF, 2 or 2.2 m high, the maximum capacity is at least 1000 fibers. Such solutions are distinguished by extra functionality for cable entry, installation of fibers and patching of optical ports with patch cords.

Generally, there are three sections inside the MODF intended for fastening multifiber cables, fiber splicing and patching, for patch cords accommodation and storage. This significantly simplifies the installation and maintenance of large number of optical ports. Modular design ensures that its capacity can be increased as the network expands, and new cables are inserted. The cable management system provides the installation of new cables and reconnections between operating cables with no negative impact on the previously inserted fibers.

The nominal capacity of the CCD VOKS-B-63 MODF Cabinet of a standard form factor is 576-768 ports (FC or SC connectors) in one MODF. The capacity can be doubled when the small size connectors (LC) are used. In order to increase the total capacity of the cabinet, the VOKS products can be joined together and installed "side-by-side" or "back-to-back".

Incoming feeder and distribution cables are prepared and secured in the VKR breakout module. The metal members of cable construction are grounded as well if available.

The VKR-3 breakout modules are installed on the VKR carrier plate. One plate can accommodate up to 4 breakout modules. One carrier plate is already pre-installed in the VOKS-FP cabinet. Up to 5 extra carrier plates can be installed.

Place of installation of carrier plate with VKR-3 module depends on the way of cables enter into the cabinet from above or from below.

Fibers leave the breakout module in transition tubes routed into the cross modules and are spliced with pigtails. Optical adapters are installed on the front side of the MODF module plate. For the convenience of fiber installation and maintenance, the cross modules can be swiveled or folded in open position (as appropriate to the design) and extracted for access. The modules are combined into the cable blocks, which, in turn, are installed on the frame.

Different organizers are used to coil and store an excess length of patch cords connected to the cross modules. Such organizer plates increase reliability and minimize time losses during the MODF maintenance, especially during patching operations.

The VOKS-B solution (fiber optic distribution system, side access to the patch field) is based on the specific cabinet with the following dimensions: depth - 300 mm and height - 2200 mm. Depending on its capacity, the cabinet width can be either 600 mm or 900 mm.

There are the following functional sections inside the VOKS-B:

• the section for cable insertion, stripping and fastening is arranged in the upper or lower part of the cabinet with the use of VKR-3 breakout modules and 10'' carrier plate;

• the section for splicing and patching of fibers is arranged in the central part of the cabinet;

• the section for coiling and storing excess patch cords is arranged along the side of the splicing zone, the organizes are also located there.

Cable block

The cable blocks for 10 cross modules for 144 FC or SC ports are used in the CCD VOKS-B-63 MODF Cabinet. When the LC connectors are used, the capacity can be doubled.

Up to 4 cable blocks can be installed in the CCD VOKS-B-63 cabinets.

MODF module

In this solution, fibers are installed and patched in folding cross modules combined into cable blocks. Each module provides space for fiber splices insertion and accommodation of up to 24 FC or 32 SC adapters. In the assembled configuration, the modules are installed in the cable block vertically, while the adapter plates constitute the patch field. The module rotation in the horizontal position provides easy access to adapters and pigtails. The module can be easily detached from the cable block for maintenance due to the excess length of fibers in the transition tubes.
