The ShKON-KPV series optical distribution cabinet is used apartment buildings (MDU) for construction of "fiber-to-home" FTTH/PON subscriber access networks in urban area. The cabinet ensures anti-vandal, water and dust protection and can be installed in the staircase, basement, technical floor or attic.
In this solution, fibers are spliced and terminated in folding cross modules combined into a cable block. Such arrangement of the patching field is the original design of Sviazstroydetal called as the "book system". Due to the folding cross modules, the cabinet's dimensions have been significantly reduced , especially its depth, while the total number of ports has been increased.
Cables are routed into the cabinet through openings in the top and bottom walls.
The openings are covered with dust protection grommets.
There are several sections in the cabinet. Cables are prepared and secured in the cable entry compartment. Then the fibers in transition tubes are routed to the splicing section to the corresponding cross module. PLC splitters are installed in special containers located on the right side wall of the cabinet.
In the closed position, the cross modules are snapped to each other.
When the maintenance is required, the appropriate cross module is turned over and secured in a horizontal position. The "book system" allows to remove any module from the block and carry it on a workbench for servicing outside the cabinet, thanks to the fiber excess in the transition tube.
