CCD MKO-G3/A-8SC Terminal Closure Kit

The MKO-G3/A Closure Kit is used for jointing overhead trunk cable with small-diameter drop-cables. The terminal has a plate with SC adapters inside used for connection with preterminated drop-cables and performing multiple reconnections.

The closure has an oval port for through-feed cable buffer tubes without cut. The buffer tube loop is laid in the winding cartridge on the opposite side of the splice trays stack.

The closure body and head are sealed mechanically. A rubber O-ring gasket and reinforced plastic clamp equipped with a self-tightening lock are used for sealing. When the clamp lock is opened, the latch transforms into a lever for easy removal of the clamp from the closure.

The incoming cables are sealed with heat shrink tubes. Initially all round cable ports on the closure head are blocked and have a gradient shape with different diameters. Cutting off the branch pipe in a certain place, you can choose the hole size as close as possible to the cable diameter. This eliminates anexcessive stretching heat shrink tubes after shrinkage when inserting rather thin cables. All closure ports are also equipped with separate anchor nodes for cable central strength members.

The oval cable port of the closure can be used for either of the following cases: 1) insertion of four thin cables up to 10 mm OD or 2) insertion of two cables up to 25 mm OD. The second case requires an extra item Closure Entry Sealing Kit No. 6 to ensure the sealing. This item can be purchased separately.

With the insertion of 2 thin cables in the round ports, the total number of cables inserted in the closure can reach 16 cables.

If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall, it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.

Please keep in mind that the "Technical specifications" section indicates the operating temperature range of the terminal closures disregarding features of parts installed within such as adapters, pigtails and splitters. If you use terminal closures with the above parts, their operating temperature range may be limited to the parameters of the specified products.
