The MKO-S7/48 Closure Kit is used for jointing overhead trunk cable with small-diameter drop cables. All fibers are spliced with fusion, and then KDZS splice sleeves are laid into the splice tray.
The closure body and head are sealed mechanically. A rubber O-ring gasket and reinforced plastic clamp equipped with a self-tightening lock are used for sealing. When the clamp lock is opened, the latch transforms into a lever for easy removal of the clamp from the closure.
Overhead cable is inserted, secured and sealed with threaded fittings.
The ports with rubber grommets for drop-cable insertion are located on the closure head. The holes diameter makes possible to ins ert drop-cables preterminated with SC connectors in to the closureand plug directly into SC adapters. The drop-cable ports are sealed by split elastic grommets.
If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.
Please keep in mind that the "Technical specifications" section indicates the operating temperature range of the terminal closures disregarding features of parts installed within such as adapters, pigtails and splitters. If you use terminal closures with the above parts, their operating temperature range may be limited to the parameters of the specified products.
