The Closure Kit is used for jointing overhead trunk cable with small-diameter drop cables. All fibers are spliced with fusion, and then KDZS splice sleeves are laid into the splice tray.
The MKO-C8 Closure is the smallest among MKO closures. The closure dimensions are minimized due to a special inner tray (bracket) that accommodates two removable splice inserts for 18 fusion splices each and 4 central strength member fasteners. An optical fiber excess is also located in the tray organizer plates.
The closure body and head are sealed mechanically.
Overhead cable is inserted, secured and sealed with threaded fittings.
The drop-cables are inserted by feedthrough holes on the closure head.Theholes diameter makes possible to ins ert drop-cables with SC connectors in to the closure. The cable ports are sealed by split elastic plugs.
If the closure is mounted on a pole or wall it is recommended to use the appropriate Closure Mount Bracket which can be purchased separately. Due to the bracket design, the closure can be easily removed from the pole and hung back. This operation requires no reattachment or use of any special tools, such as mounting band.
