The МТОК-B1 Dome Closure Kit is used for jointing underground fiber optic cables in all types of soils including the cables installed across rivers and swamps.
The closure dome and head are sealed with two half-clamps and the large diameter heat shrink tube (HST). The heat shrink tube is also used for resealing in case of the closure opening for maintenance.
The cable insertion and sealing is achieved using specific cable entry kits. These cable entries provide solid anchoring of the cable armor and protect it against twisting during operation, fasten central strength member, ensure basic and longitudinal sealing of inserted cables, ensure insulation or connection the armor of all cables straight in the same closure, provide an option to lead out the grounding wire (test wire) from the armor of each cable.
The oval cable port of the closure can be used for either of the following cases:
- insertion of a transit cable buffer tube loop up to 25 mm OD.
- insertion of two cables up to 25 mm OD.
- insertion of four thin cables up to 10 mm OD;
- leading out up to 4 grounding wires (test wires) from the cable armor of each cable.
In the first two cases, it is required to use an extra item Closure Entry Sealing Kit # 9 to ensure the sealing. This item can be purchased separately.
If the closure is mounted in pits, it is required to order mechanical and mud protection closures MCHZ or MPZ depending on the soil type.
The Bracket for Closure Installation in manholes must be purchased to install the closure in cable duct manholes.
