The CCD MTOK-L7 dome closure is designed for splicing of the 8-shaped aerial self-supporting cable with up to 72 optical fibers capacity. An oval port provided in the closure is intended to guide a loose tube transition cable loop without cutting. The loose tube loop is coiled and fastened on the opposite side of splice trays stack.
Base-to-dome sealing is ensured with an elastic O-ring and reinforced plastic self-tightening clamp. The clamp lock provides easy opening the clamp latch and clamp removal from the closure.
Cable ports are sealed using heat shrink tubing. All round sleeves have a stepped configuration with different diameters and are initially blocked. Cutting a sleeve in a certain place, allows choosing an opening size as close as possible to the diameter of the cable. This will help to eliminate an excessive tension on the heat shrinking tube after shrinkage. All closure port sleeves are also equipped with individual units for central strength member anchoring.
An oval port sleeve may be used for: 1) input of cable transition loop or 2) input of two cables with diameter of up to 25 mm. In both cases, a МТОK# 6 Cable Entry Sealing Kit should be used.
Without a transit loop and provided that 2 thin optical cables are inserted into the round branch sleeves, the total number of cables inserted into the closure can reach 10 cables.
When the closure intended for installation on utility pole or façade it is recommended to purchase the suspension bracket. The suspension bracket design allows removing the splice closure from a pole and hanging it back without special tools and consumables.
